Dr. Callari, ENT Surgeon
Richard H. Callari, MD, is a board-certified Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) surgeon (otolaryngologist) with more than 25 years of experience treating patients. He has a particular interest in sinus & nasal problems, including minimally invasive treatments, such as intranasal steroid injections and balloon sinuplasty.
Dr. Callari is a strong believer in conservative & progressive treatments using evidence-based medicine, which means he makes treatment decisions based on the best available research. He only uses interventions that are most likely to improve his patient’s quality of life.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Boston University, Dr. Callari completed his medical degree & residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. Following his residency, Dr. Callari moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1990 to establish his private practice.
Current & Previous Professional Appointments
Dr. Callari currently serves as vice chairman of the department of otolaryngology at Florida International University in Miami, as well as a clinical assistant professor of the Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. He has held various medical staff appointments at Broward Health Medical Center, including Chief of Staff & Chief of Surgery. He was also a member of the Quality Assurance Committee & Graduate Medical Education Committee at Broward Health.
